Rohit Sharma's stump mic golds break the internet during India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI: 'What?! You tell me'

Rohit Sharma made a return to action and so did his stump mic gems with the first ODI between India and Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday, August 2.

The 37-year-old took a month break after leading India to T20 World Cup 2024 victory in Barbados. The star cricketer also announced his retirement from T20I cricket after the win.

After spending time with the family, Rohit Sharma returned to lead India fresh and hungry in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. New T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav led India to a 3-0 series win in the T20Is which preceded the ODIs. Before leaving for India, he sent out a message to Rohit, saying that he would wait for one of his viral stump mic golds.

Rohit Sharma did not disappoint, and his comments caught on stump mic went viral in the first ODI itself. In one of the viral videos, Rohit Sharma can be heard asking Washington Sundar to help him in taking the review against Sri Lanka's Dunith Wellalage and not just look for his suggestion.

"What?! You tell me. Mereko kya dekh raha hai? Sab Kaam main karu tere liye? (Why are you looking at me? Should I do everything for you?)," Rohit Sharma told Washington Sundar in an animated fashion.

One more Rohit Sharma stump mic comment from the first ODI went viral. In the 20th over of the match, he gave field suggestions to Kuldeep Yadav, who was bowling to Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka. "Udhar hi marega aada, dhyan mein rakhna ," he could be heard saying.

The Indian team captain shined with the bat after Sri Lanka were restricted to 230/8 in 50 overs. Rohit Sharma opened his account with a six, and then completed a 33-ball fifty to give India a flying start.
