Inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) will look to end their long wait for the second Indian Premier League title after becoming the second team to confirm a playoff spot in the ongoing IPL 2024.
RR, who race to 16 points, had to settle for third spot on the IPL 2024 points table with 17 points from 14 matches due to their inferior Net Run Rate (NRR) compared to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

From being headed for a top two finish, RR, who had won 8 in 9, finished in third after a washout in their final league game following a four-match losing streak. Now, they will be playing in a direct knockout clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
This is the sixth IPL playoff appearance in 15 seasons for Rajasthan Royals with their first-ever qualification coming in the 2008 season when they went to lift the title, while they last finished in the top four in 2022, when they finished runners up.
Third-placed RR led by Sanju Samson will face Faf Du Plessis' fourth-placed RCB in the IPL 2024 Eliminator at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday (May 22). RR and RCB will battle for a spot in the Qualifier 2, where they will face the loser of Qualifier 1.
Before they face RCB in the IPL 2024 Eliminator followed by the qualifier 2 and then the final, let's take a look at RR playoffs record, stats and results from the previous editions of Indian Premier League:
