RR vs DC, IPL 2026: Delhi Capitals script Record Run Chase with Royals' Win
Delhi Capitals produced their highest successful chase in IPL history, storming to a seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in the 43rd match of IPL 2026 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Friday.
Chasing 226 after RR elected to bat first, DC romped home in just 19.1 overs, posting 226 for 3 at a blistering run-rate of 11.79. The chase was built on ruthless intent from the outset. Openers Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul tore into the powerplay, racing to 70 runs inside six overs.

Nissanka, in sublime touch, smashed 62 off 33 balls (6 fours, 3 sixes) before Ravindra Jadeja trapped him lbw at 110-1 in the 9.3rd over. Rahul, the stand-out performer, continued the carnage with a fluent 75 off 40 (6 fours, 5 sixes), adding 61 more with Nitish Rana (33 off 17) before holing out for 177-3 in the 15.2nd over.
Nitish Rana's brisk cameo kept the momentum alive, but it was the unbeaten finishing partnership between Tristan Stubbs (18* off 11) and Ashutosh Sharma (25* off 15) that sealed the deal.
The pair added 49 in quick time, with Sharma's four boundaries in the death overs proving decisive. DC lost only three wickets despite the high asking rate, underlining their depth and composure.RR's bowlers were powerless on a belting Jaipur pitch. Jofra Archer (1/46) and Tushar Deshpande (1/38) claimed the only wickets but leaked runs at over nine an over. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Bishnoi fared no better as the home side's attack was dismantled by clinical strokeplay.
For DC, this chase eclipses every previous successful pursuit in their IPL journey and keeps their playoff hopes firmly alive. With Axar Patel's men now boasting both firepower and finesse, Rajasthan Royals will need to regroup quickly after a rare batting collapse at home. A classic T20 spectacle that will be remembered as one of the tournament's defining chases.
