RR vs DC: Ravichandran Ashwin again rose up to the occasion, but this time in an IPL game after his team Rajasthan Royals (RR) were reduced to 36/3 in 7.2 overs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday, March 28.

The right-hander, who recently picked his 500th Test wicket, came to bat at five, and scored 29 runs off 19 balls to bring Rajasthan innings back on track.

Come the 11th over, Ashwin pulled the first ball from Anrich Norte for a six over mid-wicket. On the fourth delivery of the same over, by nailing another pull shot. The crowd went berserk after the veteran cricketer blasted three sixes in a span of six deliveries.

Ashwin's knock provided the much-needed impetus to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) innings. The partnership for the fourth wicket between Ashwin and Riyan Parag accounted for 54 off 37 balls. Parag, who scored a fifty in the match, chipped in with 22 off 18 during the period.

Talking about the match, Rajasthan Royals finished at 185/5 as Riyan Parag registered his highest ever T20 score. The 22-year-old from Assam scored 84 unbeaten runs off 45 balls. The innings consisted of seven fours and six sixes. He collected a total of 25 runs in the final over from Nortje.
