RR vs GT: Shubman Gill Shows Shades of Old Virat Kohli, Lashes Out On Umpire - Watch Video

RR vs GT: Shubman Gill, the captain of Gujarat Titans, is known for his classy batting, but the other side of the 24-year-old cricketer was on display when he was all over the on-field umpire Vinod Seshan over a wide decision in his side's clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Wednesday, April 10.

The incident happened in the 17th over of the Rajasthan Royals innings when Mohit Sharma was bowling. RR captain Sanju Samson took a DRS decision for a wide. The delivery was way above Samson's head despite him being on his toes to slash it. The third umpire gave the decision in the favour of Samson.

Later on the final ball of the over, Shubman Gill took the matter to third umpire over a wide call. Mohit Sharma had bowled the delivery full on off and outside the tramline. The on-field umpire adjudged the delivery wide despite Samson moving a little outside off while trying to play the delivery.

The third-umpire first declared the delivery fair due to Samson's movement, but later asked on-field umpire Vinod Seshan to stick with his wide decision. It was then that Shubman Gill lost his control and showed the shades of Virat Kohli of the past while charging at the umpire and having a go at him.

Gill at one point was literally in the face of the umpire, explaining his frustration. He moved away from his disappointment and threw the ball away in anger. To add salt to his injuries, Samson hit a four on the next delivery from Mohit to bring up his 31-ball fifty.

Rajasthan are unbeaten in the IPL 2024, while Gujarat are seventh in the points table after losing three of their first five games.
