The KKR star was not seen in pre-match warmups and the confirmation has been made during toss as the West Indies all-rounder will sit out from this encounter.

Both teams are seeking their first win of the season, having lost their respective opening matches. KKR, led by Ajinkya Rahane, aims to recover from their defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, while RR, under the leadership of Riyan Parag, looks to bounce back from a loss to SunRisers Hyderabad.

Sunil Narine is not playing for KKR today as he is ill. KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane confirmed that Narine is left out as he is unwell. The veteran played the last match against RCB and did well with both bat and ball amid the batting blitzkrieg.

"Sunil Narine misses out, he is unwell," KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane said at the toss on Wednesday. The Knight captain won the Toss and chose to bowl first in Guwahati.

Narine is now missing a match for KKR for the first time since IPL 2021 season.

KKR have handed Moeen Ali the opportunity as the England all-rounder makes his debut for the Knight Riders today. The 37-year-old has previously played for Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL and has played 67 matches in the tournament, scoring 1162 runs and picking 35 wickets.
