RR vs MI IPL 2024: Hardik Pandya Makes 100th Appearance For Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League

Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya marked his 100th appearance for Mumbai Indians (MI) in Indian Premier League when he took the field to face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in match 38 of IPL 2024 at the Sawai Mansing Stadium in Jaipur on Monday (April 22).

Hardik, who made his return this season to the franchise where it all started for him after two brilliant years with Gujarat Titans, wears the prestigious Blue and Gold colours for the 100th time.

Pandya had represented MI from 2015-21 and played a crucial role in their championship wins from 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. The all-rounder then went to Gujarat Titans from 2022-23, leading them to a title in their debut season followed by a runners up finish.

The star Indian all-rounder is going to be only the seventh player to achieve the feat of 100 caps for the joint-record champions. Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah are the other two members from the current team to have played 100 matches or more for MI. Here is a look at the players with most caps for MI:

The 30-year-old was traded in a cash-only deal ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, and was named the skipper of the Mumbai Indians, replacing Rohit Sharma in the role. He, however, has had a tough start to his second stint at MI, losing 4 of 7 matches as captain so far.

Even as a player, this season has been underwhelming for Pandya as he has scored 141 runs at an average of 23.50 and a strike rate of 146.88 in 7 matches, with the best score of 39. He has also taken just four wickets in this season.

In 99 matches for MI, Pandya has scored 1617 runs at an average of 26.95 and a strike rate of 153.27, with four half-centuries. His best score is 91*. He also took 46 wickets with the best figures of 3.20. He has also claimed 57 catches during his time with MI.

For Gujarat, he scored 833 runs in 31 matches at an average of 37.86 and a strike rate of 133.49, with six fifties. His best score is 87*. He also took 11 wickets for the franchise, with the best spell of 3.17.
