RR vs MI: Suryakumar Yadav etched his name in the history books on Thursday (May 1), becoming the first player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history to register 25 or more runs in 11 consecutive innings.
The record-breaking feat came during Mumbai Indians' (MI) emphatic 100-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Surpassing Robin Uthappa's previous best of 10 successive 25-plus scores from 2014, Suryakumar made the milestone his own with an explosive 48* off just 23 balls. His knock included a stunning scoop off Maheesh Theekshana in the 16th over that sailed over fine leg - a trademark stroke executed with elegance and flair.
The India T20I skipper has been in imperious form this season, with his lowest score being 26. Prior to the RR match, he had already notched up three half-centuries at a blistering strike rate of 171.15. On Thursday, his unbeaten partnership with skipper Hardik Pandya, who also scored 48* off 23, propelled MI to a daunting 217/2 - a total that RR never came close to challenging.
The Royals' chase got off to a disastrous start as their previous match hero, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, was dismissed for a second-ball duck. With a steep target looming, RR's top order crumbled under pressure. Mumbai's pace trio - Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, and Rahul Chahar - ran riot in the powerplay, reducing RR to 62/5.
Hardik Pandya joined the attack and struck immediately, removing Shubham Dubey in his very first over. Spinner Karn Sharma then dismantled the middle order, claiming 3/23 as RR folded for just 117 in 16.1 overs. Only Jofra Archer showed some fight late in the innings to help his side cross the 100-run mark.
While RR's playoff hopes have taken a significant hit, MI continue to surge. With six wins on the trot, they've climbed to the top of the table and are well poised for a top-two finish. Suryakumar's consistency and MI's resurgence make them serious contenders as the league enters its final phase.
