Mumbai Indians have made a poor start against Rajasthan Royals in their IPL 2024 match today (April 22) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

After deciding to bat first, Hardik Pandya's team has suffered a batting landslide as they have lost four wickets within the first eight overs with just 52 runs on the board.

It was yet another disappointing start for the Mumbai Indians openers as Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan got out very cheaply. Rohit was gone after just scoring six runs in the bowling of Trent Boult, while Ishan Kishan didnt trouble the scorers and departed without scoring a run.

Surya Kumar Yadav, one of the top MI batters, also departed after just scoring 10 runs. While Tilak Verma and Mohammad Nabi tried to recuperate the Paltans, the Afghan veteran lost his wicket to Yuzvendra Chahal.

Mumbai Indians are currently placed 7th in the table and this match is a pivotal one for them. But Rajasthan Royals are currently on top of them and are in the driving seat at the moment.

Trent Boult took his 26th wicket in the first overs of IPL, thus surpassing Bhuvneshwar Kumar who held the previous record.

Fans were not happy at all with the way the MI batters collapsed against the Royals. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav's disappointing way of dismissals yielded a lot of frustration among the fans as they vented it on social media.

Rohit Sharma's poor form against Rajasthan Royals continued but the others were not up to the mark. Ishan Kishan got dismissed for a duck in the bowling of a returning Sandeep Sharma.
