By MyKhel Staff

Rajasthan Royals are facing Mumbai Indians in a highly anticipated IPL 2025 clash today (Thursday, May 1) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

But beyond the cricketing stakes, the match holds deeper significance - it marks this season's Pink Promise Match, an annual celebration of Rajasthan Royals' pledge to support women-led change in rural Rajasthan.

RR vs MI Why are Rajasthan Royals wearing all-Pink Jersey Today What is Pink Promise Initiative Revealed

Why Are Rajasthan Royals Wearing All-Pink?

The Royals will take the field in a specially designed all-pink jersey, but this isn't just a cosmetic change. The pink attire is a powerful symbol of solidarity with women changemakers across Rajasthan. Through this visual statement, the franchise aims to spotlight the role of women in driving sustainable development, especially in underserved communities. It's about visibility, recognition, and reinforcing the message that women are central to the state's transformation story.

What is the Pink Promise Initiative?

The Pink Promise is more than a theme - it's a cause. Every six hit in Thursday's match will result in six rural homes in the Sambhar region being lit up with solar power. This unique model of linking on-field performance to off-field impact showcases how cricket can transcend boundaries and catalyse change.

Moreover, Rs 100 from every ticket sold will directly fund women-led development initiatives in Rajasthan. Sales from the special pink jerseys will also go towards the efforts of the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF), the Royals' social equity arm.

The 2024 edition of the Pink Promise initiative saw 260 homes electrified using solar power, with four women - trained by the RRF - leading the installations, maintenance, and follow-up. These women not only brought light to homes but also became role models for others in their communities.
