RR vs SRH: Sooryavanshi Hammers Praful Hinge For 4 Consecutive Fours

Sooryavanshi's onslaught began against Praful Hinge, who delivered the opening over for SunRisers Hyderabad. The left-hander first played a dot ball, then launched a huge six over deep square leg. Three more straight hits followed in the same over, sailing towards long leg, long-off, and long-on, stunning fielders and spectators alike.

The over also carried a personal storyline for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Earlier this IPL 2026 season, Praful Hinge had removed Sooryavanshi for a golden duck. By striking four sixes in succession off the same bowler, the youngster achieved a measure of redemption and underlined the progress made within a single campaign.

The sequence of blows did not stop with Hinge. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi then targeted Pat Cummins, who is leading SunRisers Hyderabad and playing his first match of this year, and lifted another maximum. That hit completed a run of five sixes from five legal balls faced, drawing loud appreciation around the stadium.

Sooryavanshi's explosive start against SRH fits into a strong overall IPL 2026 record. Before this match, the left-handed batter had scored 254 runs in seven innings. The tally came at a strike rate of 220.87 and already included two half-centuries, underlining a consistent attacking approach at the top of the order.

His impact goes back to the previous season as well. In IPL 2025, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi compiled 252 runs across seven matches. The strike rate then stood at 206.56, and those numbers earned the youngster the Super Striker of the Season award, highlighting how quickly Sooryavanshi adapted to high-level T20 cricket.

The current IPL 2026 standings add context to this fixture between the Rajasthan Royals and the Sunrisers Hyderabad. RR entered the match with five wins from seven games and occupied third place on the points table, having defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 40 runs in their previous outing. SRH were fourth, with three victories from seven fixtures.

Recent form favoured SunRisers Hyderabad, who arrived on a three-match winning streak. Those results came against the Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, and Delhi Capitals. In that earlier meeting this season, SRH defeated RR by 57 runs at home, a result that added extra edge to Sooryavanshi's aggressive reply in Jaipur.
