SA vs AUS WTC Final 2025: South Africa and Australia are set cross paths in a Test match at the Home of Cricket - Lord's for the second time in cricket history after the two sides booked their berth in the World Test Championship title clash.
Australia will have the chance to defend their World Test Championship crown after claiming victory over India in the fifth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, which helped the reigning World Test champions secure their second successive final.

The win moved Australia to 63.73% of possible points, denying India (50.00% of possible points) of the spot in their last Test match of the cycle. Sri Lanka, who host Australia in a two-Test series in Galle from late January, cannot overtake either them or South Africa in the WTC standings.
The Proteas, on the other hand, closed out their first-ever World Test Championship Final qualification with a tense two-wicket win in their Boxing Day Test against Pakistan at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.
Temba Bavuma's South Africa will now face Pat Cummins' Australia on the hallowed turf of the Lord's in London from June 11 later this year. While it is uncommon for teams to play Test matches in a neutral venue, Australia and South Africa have faced off in red ball contests in England earlier.
In 1912 when England played hosts to Australia and South Africa in a unique tri-series in Test format, the two WTC Finalists had met in three matches on English soil with their first meeting coming at the Old Trafford in Manchester before the Lord's and Trent Bridge clashes.
Last time South Africa and Australia faced off in a Test match at the Home of Cricket, the Proteas suffered a 10-wicket loss to the Aussies after posting 263 and 173 totals, which set a fourth innings target of just 48 for Australia, who had scored 390 in their first innings.
Before they cross paths at the iconic venue later this year, here is all you need to know about the World Test Championship 2025 Final as well as the Test record of Australia and South Africa at Lord's:
