SA vs AUS WTC Final: Both South Africa and Australia have confirmed their playing XIs for the highly anticipated World Test Championship final, set to commence tomorrow, Wednesday, June 11, at Lord's.
Both teams have made intriguing selections, setting the stage for a compelling contest.

South Africa, making their maiden appearance in the WTC final, has opted for a familiar five specialist batters, one all-rounder, and three frontline pacers. A notable decision for captain Temba Bavuma was the inclusion of Lungi Ngidi as the third pacer over the in-form Dane Paterson.
Bavuma elaborated on this selection, stating, "Probably one of the tougher decisions that has been made. We see what Dane Paterson did for us to the end of last season. But it was more from a tactical point of view. Probably a little bit more pace from Lungi, guess he's a bit taller as well.
Lungi also has a better record, not taking away anything from Patto. He (Ngidi) has the experience, he's played here before, not that Patto hasn't. But I think he (Ngidi) will complement that bowling attack a little more. We have a guy like Mulder, who can give us something similar like Patto." Ngidi, despite playing only one Test since January 2024 due to fitness concerns, showed his readiness during IPL 2025.
Another significant confirmation from Bavuma was that all-rounder Wiaan Mulder will bat at number three. While Mulder has limited experience in this position (just twice in 29 innings), Bavuma expressed confidence in his development. "Mulder is quite young in that position. But I think having played with Mulder, having seen him and the way he has grown in the last two years within the red-ball format," Bavuma said.
"It's about giving him a lot more confidence, keep backing him and just allowing him to do what he does best. He has an opportunity in a pressure situation, but I think he can take comfort from the fact that the guys are backing him. We just want him to play his game."
South Africa's XI for WTC Final vs Australia: Aiden Markram, Ryan Rickelton, Wiaan Mulder, Tristan Stubbs, Temba Bavuma (Captain), David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynne (Wicketkeeper), Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj and Lungi Ngidi.
Defending champions Australia, led by Pat Cummins, have also unveiled their lineup, featuring several anticipated adjustments. The most significant news is the omission of pacer Scott Boland, with Josh Hazlewood returning to the pace trio.
Boland, despite his remarkable Test average of 17.66, finds himself on the bench as Hazlewood makes his comeback from a side injury. Hazlewood will play in his first WTC final, having missed the 2023 triumph over India.
In a bold move, Marnus Labuschagne will open the batting for Australia for the first time in Tests. This decision comes after a period of experimentation with various openers. Labuschagne's promotion aims to address his recent form, as he hasn't scored a Test century since 2023.
His move up the order means Cameron Green, playing his first Test since back surgery, will bat at number three as a specialist batter. To compensate for Green's inability to bowl, Beau Webster, who offers both spin and medium-pace, has been selected for the all-rounder's role at number six.
Australia's playing 11 for WTC Final against South Africa: Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Cameron Green, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Beau Webster, Alex Carey (WK), Pat Cummins (C), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, and Josh Hazlewood.
