South African batters have surpassed their 2015 World Cup achievement and have rewritten history in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 on Wednesday (November 1).
South Africa are playing New Zealand at the MCA Stadium in Pune and the Proteas batters were on song yet again. Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen were the stars of the show as the South Africans amassed 357 runs in their 50 overs.

Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen both scored centuries. De Kock scored 114 off just 116 balls, and then Van Der Dussen notched up his century as well, ending up with 133 off just 118 balls.
With the pair of centuries, South Africa have now crossed their World Cup 2015 centuries tally and now have their highest number of centuries in a single World Cup edition.
The Proteas batters have already racked up 8 centuries, two more their tally in World Cup 2015. They were already tied and the two centuries against New Zealand on Wednesday has rewritten history for them.
Out of their eight hundreds, Quinton de Kock himself has four to his name. The southpaw is in tremendous form in this World Cup and looks set to make his swansong special. Rassie van der Dussen has also scored a couple of tons, while Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram have scored one each.
