South Africa will host Pakistan in an all-format tour, featuring six white ball games followed by two red ball matches, starting with the shortest format - a three-match T20I series from Tuesday (December 10).

The Proteas will host the visiting Pakistan team first at the Kingsmead in Durban in the series opener followed by the second T20I at the SuperSport Park in Centurion before the third and final T20I at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

Several all-format players, including regular T20I captain Aiden Markram, are set to miss the T20I series due to the final Test against Sri Lanka concluding only a day before the short format series against Pakistan.

The hosts, who last played in the shortest format against India last month, have named wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen as the captain for the T20I squad that also include David Miller, Anrich Nortje, Rassie van der Dussen among others.

Pakistan, who recently won the T20I series in Zimbabwe, will welcome seniors Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi after the pair missed the tour to Zimbabwe. The visitors will continue to be led by Mohammad Rizwan, who was named the white-ball captain earlier this year.

This will be Pakistan's first tour to South Africa for a T20I bilateral series since 2021. In their previous three visits, Pakistan has won the series two times, having clinched the series 2-1 in 2013 and 3-1 in 2021. In 2019, South Africa won the series 2-1.
