SA20 2024 Final: Kavya Marna, the owner of Sunrisers Eastern Cape franchise in the SA20, was pumped up after her team lifted the trophy for the second consecutive time on Saturday, January 11.
After electing to bat first at the Newlands in Cape Town, Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) posted a solid 204/3 in 20 overs against Durban Super Giants (DSG). Tom Abell scored 55 off 34, captain Aiden Markram unbeaten 42 off 26, and Tristan Stubbs 56 not out runs off 30 balls.

In reply, Durban Super Giants were bundled out for 115 in just 17 overs. Wiaan Mulder top-scored for the Keshav Maharaj-led side with 38 off 22. Left-arm pacer Marco Jansen wreaked havoc and registered figures of 5/30.
Kavya Maran broke out into mad celebration as soon as Jansen cleaned the stumps of Reece Topley to script his team's thumping 89 runs victory. Pictures and videos of Kavaya Maran's celebration have gone viral.
“It’s a second cup. Back-to-back, two in a row. So glad, so happy. Best performance by the team with the bat and the ball. They have been dominating this whole season, and to finally get this through-I mean, it’s unbelievable to be winning it (title) back-to-back. So happy for the guys; everyone put up a great show. Very strong team that we played today, but happy to have the win at the end of the day," Maran said after the victory.
Kavya Marna would be hoping for a similar success in the IPL 2024 with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Aiden Markram led the team in the 2023 season but SRH finished at the bottom of the 10-team points table with just four wins.
SRH last won the title under David Warner in 2016. Kane Williamson took the captaincy baton from Warner, but failed to deliver the trophy. SRH have added the likes of Travis Head, Pat Cummins, and Wanindu Hasaranga at the IPL 2024 auction.
