The third edition of Cricket South Africa's T20 league - SA20 2025 is all set to get underway on Thursday (January 9) with the reigning champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) taking on MI Cape Town (MICT) in the opener at St George's Park in Gqberha.
The six team tournament's action will then shift to Durban before Paarl and Johannesburg host the double-header. In total, 34 matches will be staged across six venues in the space of a month.

The 34 matches include, 30 league stage matches which come to a close on February 2 with the tournament then continuing with the four playoff round matches which will be played across three venues from February 4 to 8.
Each team will play 10 matches each in the league stage with every team facing each other in double round-robin format at home and away. Following the completion of the league phase, the top four will progress to the SA20 Playoffs.
The playoffs will be much similar to the Indian Premier League and most other franchise leagues across the world as the top two will clash in Qualifier 1 for a direct spot in the final, while third and fourth will eliminate each other to get closer to a final spot.
The matches will be played as single headers on most days with double-headers being played on select days with the first match starting as early as 1 PM Local Time and the latest start being. Here is a look at the venues and schedule:
