SA20 2025 season 3 is scheduled to be held in the January-February window at the start of next year, but before that all the six teams will finalize their squads through the player auction.
All six teams have already roped in some elite-level overseas players, including Ben Stokes, Kane Williamson and Joe Root among other. The 6 teams have also retained the best South African talent during the retention window last month.

Each team has also shown their commitment to developing young local players with seven of the eight inaugural Rookies of last season being incorporated into the squads. All teams can still add to their squads at the 3rd edition of SA20 auction, which takes place later this year.
Here is all you need to know about the date, timing and live streaming information as well as the remaining slots and purses of all the six teams ahead of the SA20 Auction 2025:
The third edition of the SA20 auction will take place on October 1 in Cape Town, where all teams will get an opportunity to strengthen their squads. Players interested to enter the auction can register their names at the official website until September 6.
The bidding process is scheduled to start at 4:30 PM SAST (Local Time) on October 1, Tuesday. Due to time difference, the auction start time is at 8 PM IST (Indian time) on Tuesday (October 1).
Many teams have already retained the core of their sides and have also signed marquee overseas players to their squads. A total of 19 slots can be filled at the auction with 13 auction picks available across the six teams, along with the six Rookie selections.
In South Africa, the SA20 Auction will be shown live on SuperSport, while the SA20 Auction live streaming will be available globally, including India, on the SA20 Official YouTube Channel. The complete broadcast details will be revealed closer to the date.
All teams are required to incorporate a minimum of 10 South African players, a maximum of seven overseas players and an additional new Rookie player who must be South African in their 19-player squad.
All teams except for Paarl Royals and Durban's Super Giants will have at least 3 picks in the auction. Paarl Royals will also have the largest purse heading into the bidding process.
MICT are one of three teams, along with JSK and Pretoria Capitals, that still have the Wildcard option available to them ahead of the December 30 deadline. Here is a look at the remaining slots and purse in detail:
