SA20 Season 3: The highly anticipated SA20 Season 3 - the franchise-based domestic T20 league - is set to light up the South African summer once again, bringing world-class cricket and entertainment to fans all around the country.

The action-packed tournament, featuring the best local and international talent, is scheduled to thrill audiences from January 9, 2024, with the grand finale slated for February 8 at the iconic Wanderers Stadium.

SA20 2025 Opening Games

The season will begin with a bang as the reigning champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC), start their bid for a third consecutive title by hosting MI Cape Town (MICT) at St George’s Park.

This opener promises an exciting face-off between SEC's captain Aiden Markram and MICT's marquee signing Ben Stokes. Additionally, fans can look forward to a southpaw battle between SEC's Marco Jansen and MICT's Trent Boult.

The following day, last season’s runners-up, Durban’s Super Giants (DSG), will welcome Pretoria Capitals (PC) to Kingsmead. This match will mark Black Caps legend Kane Williamson’s debut for DSG, while Capitals’ speedster Anrich Nortje will make his comeback after missing Season 2 due to injury.

The opening weekend continues with Paarl Royals (PR) kicking off their campaign against SEC at Boland Park. Later that day, Joburg Super Kings (JSK) will take on MICT under the lights at Wanderers, where Devon Conway will lead the charge for JSK alongside Faf du Plessis.

As the season progresses, fans can expect intense competition, culminating in the playoff stages. Season 3 will retain the playoff structure from Season 2 but will be hosted across three different venues. Qualifier 1 will take place at St George’s Park, while Centurion will host both the Eliminator and Qualifier 2.

The grand finale will return to Wanderers, promising an electrifying conclusion to the season.
