Sachin down with flu, keeps away from skill camp
Bangalore, Jun 15 (UNI) Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who was seen in action during the first two days of the cricket skill camp in progress here, did not take field today due to a bout of flu.
Sachin's absence was noticeable, even as 14 other players went through the rigours of the camp. During the day-long session, the focus was on catching as players, divided into two groups, were made to run, dive and scramble by specialist coaches Robin Singh and Venkatesh Prasad. Fielding drills and physical exercises also formed part of the camp. The players batted in the centre wicket for some time in the morning.
Team physio John Gloster, physical trainer Gregory King, Robin Singh and Venkatesh Prasad took active part in the day's proceedings.
Former Captain Sourav Ganguly, who received a hit on his ankle, had no problem in taking part in the day-long camp.
BCCI sources said Sachin's illness was minor and he is likely to come out and practice tomorrow, when the four-day camp ended.
The team would leave for Ireland from Mumbai on June 19.
