Inspiring Video: Sachin to Sania, Here's why Sports Heroes joined hands, sang National Anthem

Mumbai, Jan 25: They all have played a crucial roles and made a special niche for India in international platform. Now, they have joined hands to to inspire young children of the country.

Cricket legends -- Sunil Gavaskar to Sachin Tendulkar; Tennis stars -- Sania Mirza to Mahesh Bhupati, Hockey player Dhanraj Pillay to Football star Baichung Bhutia -- all have tried their best to encourage kids to play sports.

In an video, titled Sports Heroes, eight sports heroes from different fields were seen singing national anthem -- Jana Gana Mana. The inspiring video has been released in Mumbai ahead of Republic Day.

Former India and Mumbai spinner Nilesh Kulkarni along with wife Rasika Kulkarni produced the video which was directed by Abhijit Panse and music is composed by Bollywood music director Ram Sampath.

Who all are featured in the video:
  • Sunil Gavaskar (former Team India player)
  • Dhanraj Pillay (Former Hockey Player)
  • Gagan Narang (Indian shooter)
  • Baichung Bhutia (Former Football player)
  • Sushil Kumar (Indian freestyle wrestler)
  • Mahesh Bhupathi (Tennis player)
  • Sania Mirza (Tennis player)
  • Sachin Tendulkar (God of Indian cricket)

Speaking about the video, Sachin said, "...when you sing it (Jana Gana Mana) in the centre of the ground, then...seena chauda ho jata hai. We achieve so many personal goals, also team milestones are achieved, but when its comes to our national anthem, everything else takes a backseat."

Other sports celebrities too shared the video on social networking sites. Gagan Narang re-tweeted Sachin's tweet and stated, "Honoured to be s part of this."
