Sachin Tendulkar connects with ailing Vinod Kambli in Ramakant Achrekar Memorial Unveiling Ceremony - Watch

By MyKhel Staff

Sachin Tendulkar was seen connecting with his childhood friend Vinod Kambli at a special event in Mumbai on Tuesday (December 3).

The two former India cricketers, who were the students of Mumbai's Ramakant Achrekar, were present at a memorial unveiling event at Shivaji Park, the abode of Achrekar's coaching masterclass.

Achrekar Sir, who passed away in 2019, is the greatest coach India has ever produced. Many players have gone on to play for India after training under him, and some stars of Indian cricket were present on the evening.

Apart from Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli, the likes of Sanjay Bangar, Praveen Amre, Sameer Dighe, Balvinder Singh Sandhu, Paras Mhambrey were also present at the event.

Sachin, along with Maharashtra's political leader Raj Thackeray - unveiled the memorial just outside the premises of Shivaji Park.

The event, marked by nostalgia and reverence, saw Tendulkar meeting a visibly frail-looking Kambli. Despite his health challenges, Kambli attended the ceremony to pay homage to Achrekar, highlighting the deep respect both players have for their coach.

Tendulkar, as always, was seen extending warmth and support to his childhood friend. Their bond, formed during their formative cricketing years under Achrekar's guidance, remains strong, despite the ups and downs in their lives.

In a clip, Sachin could be seen heading to Kambli and talking with him. Kambli couldn't stand up due to his ailing health while hugging his childhood friend, but the duo shared a special moment with each other at the event.

After the conclusion, Sachin and Kambli also had a brief chat before the former left amid arousing chants at the premises.
