Bharat Ratna Award for Sachin Tendulkar?

New Delhi, Jul 23: Sachin Tendulkar could be nominated to receive Bharat Ratna Awards, said sources from the Prime Minister's office.

According to sources the PMO will accept the recommendations of the Home Ministry after it spoke to the PMO and recommended that a sports should be a category in the Bharat Ratna Awards.

Ajay Maken, Sports Minister had written to the Home Ministry asking that the batsman be felicitated with Bharat Ratna.

If the recommendation is accepted, then Tendulkar will be first Indian sportsperson to receive the prestigious Bharat Ratna Award.
