Sachin Tendulkar gifts Lionel Messi his India jersey, Argentina legend returns with World Cup Ball as Present

Sachin Tendulkar gifted his no. 10 India shirt with an autograph to Lionel Messi at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (December 14).

Messi attended the Wankhede Stadium in his G.O.A.T. tour and the India legend shared a special moment with the Argentine at the event.

Amidst the massive cheers of 'Messi, Messi', the Mumbai crowd rose in unision to cheer the legendary India cricketer, who was there to share a moment of lifetime for the fans.

The crossover of cricket and football was at its optimum, as Messi was seen giving a warm hug to Tendulkar. After that, the India legend gifted Messi his India shirt, which was also signed by the Indian G.O.A.T. In return, Messi gifted Sachin Tendulkar the World Cup 2026 official ball.

Tendulkar thanked the Mumbai crowd for their amazing support, which has made the dream come true for the city of dreams. He also credited Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Rodrigo de Paul, and thanked them for gracing their feet at the Wankhede Stadium. Along with that, the Indian legend also wished for the football in the country to elevate in the future.

Apart from that, Mumbai also witnessed India football legend Sunil Chhetri sharing a special moment with the Argentina legend. The crowd inside the Wankhede was extremely passionate and sang their heart out for Messi, but was grumpy when it came to the Bollywood stars.

Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff were vehemently booed by the Mumbai crowd when they were asked to be on the pitch. The Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnabis also faced the heat and as he was felicitating the bollywood duo, crowd raised their 'boo' decibel, and started chanting 'Messi, Messi' instead.

The Argentina star also launched the Project Mahadeva, a footballing project which envisions to produce the future football stars of the country as 60 children has been handpicked for world-class training and coaching in Maharashtra.
