Tendulkar shares video of little girl hitting boundaries for fun: 'Kal hi toh auction hua.. aaj match shuru?'

Sachin Tendulkar has shared a viral clip which shows a girl batting in a sandy field and hitting the ball with a lot of style and elegance.

India great Sachin Tendulkar has shared a viral video in which a teenage girl can be seen batting in a sandy ground and smashing balls off boys of her age group for fun. The 35 second videos shows the girl coming down the track to hit powerful boundaries towards the leg. Fans also compared her to India batting start Suryakumar Yadav for playing a few mesmerising ramp shots.

"Kal hi toh auction hua.. aur aaj match bhi shuru? Kya baat hai. Really enjoyed your batting," Tendulkar has written alongside the video.

WPL auction creates history

Notably, the first-ever Women's Premier League (WPL) auction was held at Mumbai's Jio Convention Centre on Monday. The auction saw a total of 87 Players going under the hammer. A total of Rs 59. 50 crore was splurged collectively amongst the five franchises - Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz.

Smriti Mandhana was the most expensive buy as she was picked by RCB for Rs 3.40 crore. She was followed by

Australia's Ashleigh Gardner and England's Natalie Sciver who were bought for Rs 3.20 crore by Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians respectively. Among Indians, Deepti Sharma (Rs 2.60 crore), Jemimah Rodrigues (Rs 2.20 crore), Shafali Verma (Rs 2 crore), Pooja Vastrakar (Rs 1.90 crore), Rucha Ghosh (Rs 1.90 crore) and Harmanpreet Kaur (Rs 1.80 crore).

The league which will feature the biggest women's cricketing star from around the globe is expected to unearth numerous cricketing talents from every nook and corner of the country.

A lot of young girls including those from India's Women's U-19 T20 World Cup-winning team have already been picked by the five five franchises. Uncapped Tanuja Kanwer triggered a bidding war and was picked by Gujarat Titans for Rs 50 lakh. U-19 T20 World Cup champion Shweta Sehrawat was picked by UP Warriorz for Rs 40 lakh. Two more uncapped player Kanika Ahuja (Rs 35 lakh) and Minnu Mani (Rs 30 lakh) were picked by RCB and Delhi Capitals respectively.
