Bengaluru, Aug 2: Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took social media to express his excitement of visiting Rio de Janeiro to cheer for the Indian athletes at the Olympics.

Sachin tweeted an image of himself and wrote "Thrilled to go to Rio and cheer for team India! Chalo Rio mein tiranga lehraein!!!! Come on team India!"
His Tweet read:

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has invited the 'Master Blaster' to be present at the grand sporting carnival and grace the occassion.
He is also an Indian Olympic Association goodwill ambassador an honour which was conferred on him by the Indian olympic Association.
On Tendulkar's visit to Rio for the games, a source was quoted earlier saying: "This will be Tendulkar's first visit to the Olympics games. He would be leaving for Rio de Janeiro on 2 August, during his visit he would also be meeting the Indian contingent to wish them well for the games
"Sachin recently visited the government hospital in Mumbai to get a yellow fever vaccination which is mandatory for countries like Brazil."
Sachin Tendulkar the greatest cricketer India has ever produced and also one of the best sportspersons in India is known to be enthusiastic about other sports.
He co-owns an Indian Super League franchise, a premier football tournament in India, Kerala Blasters.
The maestro's presence would surely act as a morale boost for the 120 Indian athletes who will take part at Rio Olympics 2016.
