Sahibzada Farhan has become the first Pakistani batter to hit 100 sixes in a single calendar year in T20 cricket, marking a historic achievement for Pakistan cricket.

He reached this milestone during the tri-nation T20I series match against Sri Lanka, hitting a total of 102 sixes in 2025.

Sahibzada Farhan

Farhan is only the 12th batsman globally to reach this landmark in a year, placing him among elite company with players like Australia's Karanbir Singh (122 sixes) and West Indies' Nicholas Pooran (103 sixes) who have more sixes this year. Farhan has also matched Karanbir and Pooran in scoring the most fifty-plus scores in T20s in 2025, each having 15 such innings.

In the match against Sri Lanka, Farhan played a powerful unbeaten innings of 80 runs off 45 balls, including six fours and five sixes, helping Pakistan chase down the target of 129 with seven wickets in hand and 27 balls to spare. This 80* is also the highest individual score by a Pakistani against Sri Lanka in T20Is, surpassing Shoaib Malik's previous record of 57 runs set in the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup. Mohammad Nawaz was the standout bowler for Pakistan, taking 3 wickets for 16 runs, and earned the Player of the Match award.

Currently, Pakistan leads the tri-nation series standings with two wins from two matches, followed by Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. Farhan's success has been widely praised as a sign of his fearless shot-making and a bright future for Pakistan in the shortest format of cricket.
