Sam Curran Injury Update: Rajasthan Royals have suffered a setback ahead of IPL 2026, with England all-rounder Sam Curran likely to miss the season due to a suspected groin injury.
Curran, 27, last featured on March 5 during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final, where England were knocked out by eventual champions India. He was set to debut for RR after being acquired in a high-profile trade from Chennai Super Kings last November.

The deal also saw Ravindra Jadeja move to Rajasthan, while Sanju Samson headed the other way to Chennai following a stellar World Cup campaign.
Curran's absence comes as a blow for RR, who were banking on his all-round abilities to strengthen their squad. The Englishman was set to represent his third IPL franchise, having previously played for Punjab Kings and CSK.
While the franchise is yet to confirm a replacement, they are understood to be exploring options. In the meantime, RR will rely on Jadeja and South African all-rounder Donovan Ferreira to fill the gap, with the latter offering power-hitting and part-time off-spin.
Meanwhile, Riyan Parag is set to captain the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026. Following the exit of Rahul Dravid as head coach, the franchise will head into the season with a revamped coaching setup led by Kumar Sangakkara as Director of Cricket and Head Coach.
He will be assisted by Vikram Rathour as lead assistant coach, Shane Bond as fast bowling coach, Trevor Penney as assistant coach, and Sid Lahiri as performance coach.
Here is the full schedule of the Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming season of the IPL. The Royals will play their first match on March 30 against the Chennai Super Kings at Guwahati.
