Fans of Sanju Samson who have vociferously slammed BCCI and the selectors for not including their favourite cricketer in the Indian team in the past, were happy and excited after finding the Kerala star's name missing from the Asian Games squad on Friday.
The BCCI have announced a 15-member squad under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad. The squad also features Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Rahul Tripathi, Ravi Bishnoi and Tilak Varma among others.

Before Samson's fan could fume over the exclusion, a few from the tribe pacified them by making them look at the brighter picture. Samson's omission from the Asian Games squad is being seen by many as a signal that the Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain is certain of being picked in the ODI World Cup squad.
Notably, the cricket competition at the Asian Games will take place from 28th September to 8th October in a T20 format. The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 kicks off from October 5. India will play their first match against Australia on October 8 in Chennai.
So quite naturally, those named in the Asian Games squad will have a minimal chance of being selected in the squad for the marquee event.
