Sanju Samson messed up despite getting a second opportunity in the India playing eleven in the third and final T20I against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, July 30.
The wicketkeeper-batter was not given a chance in the first game of the series, but got an opportunity in the second game due to the back spasm of vice-captain of Shubman Gill. He was dismissed for a golden duck in the match.

Gill returned for the third T20I but Samson got one more chance in the India playing eleven after Rishabh Pant was rested from the dead rubber. Notably, India won the first two T20Is to take an unassailable 2-0 lead.
However, Samson registered another duck, failing to make a mark once again. The 29-year-old lasted four balls before being dismissed by Sri Lanka debutant Chamindu Wickramasinghe in the third over.
Samson was trying to work the ball on the leg side when a leading edge went flying into the hands of the deep point fielder. After failing to deliver at his preferred number three spot, Samson walked back to the pavilion with his head bowed down.
Fans roasted Sanju Samson on social media for his yet another failure at the international level. The Rajasthan Royals captain has developed an infamous reputation of failing to encash the rare opportunities he gets for India.
Not only Samson, but the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, captain Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube also failed to deliver in the third T20I which started after a one-hour delay due to rain.
Jaiswal was dismissed in the second over for 10 off nine balls. Surya could score only eight off nine, while Dube departed after scoring 13 off 14 to leave India reeling at 48/5 in 8.4 overs. Sri Lanka opted to bowl first after winning the toss.
