Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson is set to miss out a part of the IPL 2025 again due to an injury.
The franchise have confirmed that their captain Sanju Samson will not be available for their next IPL 2025 fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, scheduled to be held on April 24 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Samson is currently sidelined due to an abdominal injury sustained during the IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals on April 16. He was forced to retire hurt after scoring 31 off 19 balls and did not return to bat in the Super Over.
He has since remained under the observation of the Royals' medical team at the franchise's home base. The latest statement from RR confirmed that the wicketkeeper-batter will continue his recovery under the supervision of select medical staff and will not travel with the squad to Bengaluru.
Earlier in the season, Samson was recovering from a thumb injury, which limited his participation to batting roles in the initial three matches. With the league now entering its decisive phase, Sanju's absence not only affects RR tactically, but also puts pressure on the leadership group to keep the side's momentum going in a tightly packed points table. Riyan Parag has been leading the Royals in Sanju's absence, and they have struggled so far in IPL 2025.
The team management is monitoring his progress closely and will adopt a game-by-game approach regarding his return to action. He will not travel to Bengaluru for the RCB match as well and his availability can be known only after the match against RCB.
The Royals are currently placed 8th in the points table with just 4 points in eight matches and need an immediate turnaround to stay alive in the playoff race. A defeat against RCB
