Sarah Taylor's lesbian partner gives birth to a baby boy, couple introduce their son Laurie to the world
Former England woman cricketer Sarah Taylor and her female partner Diana Main became parents. The 33-year-old cricketer's partner, Main, gave birth to a baby boy. Taylor and Main are a lesbian couple.
Taylor took to her Instagram handle on Thursday (July 6) to announce the arrival of a new member of her family and also revealed the name of their baby boy as 'Laurie'.
Sharing the images of the new bundle of joy that arrived in their lives, the legendary wicketkeeper-batter from Sussex, captioned it, "What a week it's been with this little boy! Welcome to the world Laurie :). @dianamain_ you two are my world. So proud of you."
Sarah Taylor Came Out As Gay
Taylor had in February come out as a lesbian publically when she announced that her partner is pregnant. "Being a mother has always been my partner's dream. The journey hasn't been an easy one but Diana has never given up. I know she will be the best mum and I'm so happy to be a part of it. 19 weeks to go and life will be very different! So proud of you @dianamain_," Taylor captioned the image with her partner Diana with a queer emoji.
Sarah Taylor Cricket Career
Taylor - the right-handed batter - announced her retirement from international cricket in 2019. She withdrew from the 2019 summer Ashes series held in England. The exceptionally talented GOAT wicketkeeper has won two ODI World Cups (2009 and 2017) and the Women's T20 World Cup (2009) for England. Her stellar career encompassed a total of 226 caps for England.
The London-born star cricketer - who has often raised the issue of women's mental health - is of the most naturally-talented players England have produced. She even starred in senior men's cricket for Walmley, in the Birmingham Premier League.
Sarah has played 126 ODIs for England and grabbed 87 catches. She has often been compared with former India cricketer MS Dhoni for her lightning-quick glovework. Her 51 stumpings in the 50-overs-format career are a testimony to her superb glovework.
After hanging up her boots, she took coaching roles with Team Abu Dhabi in the Abu Dhabi T10 competition and in 2022, she joined Manchester Originals as the men's assistant coach in The Hundred.
