Sarfaraz Khan, who got his maiden India call-up on Monday, has received a congratulatory message from across the border in India. Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq has taken to his X handle (formerly Twitter) to congratulate the 26-year-old star.
The Mumbai batter has been in top form and recently slammed 161 runs in the first innings of the second Unofficial Test against England Lions in Ahmedabad. The right-hand batter scored 96 runs in the practice match, and scored 55 runs in the second innings of the first Unofficial Test.

There have been calls for his inclusion in the Indian Test team for a while now. He scored 556 runs in six matches at an average of 92.66 in Ranji Trophy 2022-23 season. He was the leading run-scorer in Ranji Trophy 2021-22. He scored 982 runs in six matches at an average of 122.75.
After Virat Kohli pulled back from the first two Tests against England, Rajat Patidar was inducted in the India squad as his replacement. Patidar played alongside Sarfaraz in the first Unofficial Test match and scored a hundred.
Sarfaraz Khan got a place in the India Test squad for the second Test in Visakhapatnam after KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were ruled out due to injuries.
Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq sent his support from across the border after Sarfaraz Khan was named in the India Test squad by BCCI selectors. "Congratulations brother So Happy for you," he wrote on X.
Suryakumar Yadav, the Mumbai teammate of Sarfaraz also shared an Instagram story to celebrate the youngster's maiden India call up. 'Utsav ki taiyaarri karo," he wrote alongside his picture with Sarfaraz.
Sarfaraz Khan has played 45 first-class matches till date and scored 3912 runs at an average of 69.85. He has hit 14 hundreds and 11 fifties in the red-ball format.
