Sarfaraz Khan brought up his first Test hundred for India at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, October 19. His 150 off 195 balls helped India overcome a massive 356-run deficit against New Zealand in the ongoing first Test.
The Mumbai batter, who recently smashed a double hundred in the Irani Cup against Rest of India, came in the India playing eleven for the first Test in place of Shubman Gill, who had stiffness in his neck.

The right-hander made the most of the opportunity and bounced back from his three-ball duck to hit his first hundred for India. The 26-year-old had played three Test matches prior to the ongoing game and scored three fifties.
The hundred was special for numerous reasons. The maiden hundred helped India wipe off their second-highest first innings deficit at home to drag the match to the fifth day. Notably, India were bundled out for 46 in the first innings.
The hundred was also India's 550th in Test cricket. The youngster got his name registered among the stalwarts of Indian cricket to hit a milestone Test hundred for the country.
