India's intra-squad practice match was an excellent preparatory outing for some of the youngsters.
India will take on South Africa in a two-match Test series and the first match of the series starts on Tuesday (December 26).

Ahead of the match, the team management arranged an intra-squad practice match where an extensive Indian team took part along with some of the India A players who are also in South Africa. And there have been a few excellent knocks from some of the players in the match.
Sarfaraz Khan was the keystone performer in the match. Sarfaraz scored a 61-ball century and showcased his excellent batting prowess again. The Mumbai batter dismantled the bowling attack and took apart the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Navdeep Saini and others to get to a scintillating century.
With Ruturaj Gaikwad now out of the Test series, it is to be seen if Sarfaraz is handed an opportunity in the Red ball format.
Despite his underwhelming outing in the T20s, Shubman Gill also showcased his class with a fantastic hundred in the intra-squad match. Gill played some exquisite shots and got to his century in style.
Yashasvi Jaiswal also was a key performer in the match. The southpaw scored a half-century in the practice outing and was unbeaten when the team management took him off.
Abhimanyu Easwaran also scored a half-century in the match. He is also in contention to replace Gaikwad for the Test series.
