Sarfaraz Khan's father and wife were in tears as he was presented his debut cap from Anil Kumble before the start of India's third Test against England at Rajkot on Thursday, February 15. Wickekeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel got his debut cap from Dinesh Karthik.
Sarfaraz Khan was named in the India squad ahead of the second Test after injuries to KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja. However, Rajat Patidar made his debut ahead of the Mumbai right-hand batter.

The 26-year-old got into the India playing eleven in place of Shreyas Iyer who was dropped after a string of low scores. The momentum turned out to be emotional for Sarfaraz Khan, and his father Naushad Khan also broke into tears of happiness. Sarfaraz's wife was also presented at the Saurashtra Cricket Academy (SCA) Stadium in Rajkot on the momentous occasion.
Further, 23-year-old Dhruv Jurel also made his India debut by replacing KS Bharat in the India playing eleven. Bharat failed time and again with the bat, and the same paved way for the Uttar Pradesh wicketkeeper-batter's first match for India. Jurel got his debut from Dinesh Karthik.
Ravindra Jadeja made his comeback after missing the second Test debut to a hamstring injury. Kuldeep Yadav, who picked a five-wicket haul in the last Test match in Rajkot, was picked alongside Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin as the third spinner. Axar Patel was dropped, and Mohammed Siraj replaced Mukesh Kumar.
