Saturated outfield delays start of second test

NOTTINGHAM, England, July 27 (Reuters) No play was possible before lunch on the first day of the second test between England and India today because of a rain-soaked outfield.

Although the sun was shining at the scheduled 1000GMT (1530 hrs IST) start time, torrential rain during the week had saturated Trent Bridge. Umpires Simon Taufel and Ian Howell were due to make another inspection at 1300GMT (1830 hrs IST).

The first test at Lord's was drawn.
