The Indian domestic cricket season is set to resume on Sunday (October 2). Saurashtra will host the Irani Cup 2023 final against the Rest of India team at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
Saurashtra, led by Jaydev Unadkat qualified to play in the Irani Cup after they won their second Ranji Trophy title in February, this year. They beat Bengal comprehensively by nine wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The Rest of India team consists of players from all states and Ranji teams. Every year, the Rest of India team goes up against the Ranji Trophy winners of that year in a 5-day long test match, called as Irani Cup.
Both teams look solid on the paper. Jaydev Unadkat, who recently got a call-up from the Indian test team, will captain the Saurashtra side. The batting line-up of the team is backed by a strong presence of the veterans Cheteshwar Pujara and Sheldon Jackson.
The defending champions, Rest of India will be captained by Hanuma Vihari. Mayank Agarwal, Sai Sudarshan, Sarfaraz Khan, K S Bharat, Yash Dayal, Navdeep Saini, Shams Mulani and Rohan Kunnummal make this side a team to beat.
