Sawai Mansingh Stadium, established in 1969 and named after Sawai Man Singh II, the former Maharaja of the state of Jaipur, will host a few matches during the eighteenth edition of the Indian Premier League – IPL 2025, starting from Sunday (April 13).
Sawai Mansingh Stadium, which underwent a major renovation in 2006, has served as home venues to Rajasthan state teams, the Indian cricket team and since 2008, when Indian Premier League (IPL) started as a home to the Rajasthan Royals.

The venue in Jaipur will play hosts to at least five home games of the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing season of IPL. The Royals had played two home games at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. Now they return to their original base.
RR will open their home campaign in Jaipur against Royal Challengers Bengaluru before they host Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans in the remaining two home games in April. In May, the Royals will play hosts to Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings.
The SMS venue will be hosting it’s tenth season of the cash-rich league matches, having hosted several matches in IPL - the home games of RR in nine seasons prior to the 2025 season. Here is a look at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium T20 and IPL records:
