The incident happened in the 47th over of the first innings when pinch-hitter Marco Jansen was going after Australian bowlers in the slog overs. Facing Nathan Ellis, Jansen went after a full delivery on the off and sliced it to the sweeper cover region.

The effort appeared to be clearing the boundary with Sean Abbott chasing the ball from the cover region made a full-stretched dive to take a one-handed blinder. Jansen, who scored a quickfire 16-ball 32, couldn't believe the effort as well and was seen holding his hand in disbelief. Sean Abbott's stunner was among the standout moment of the day for Australia while South African middle-order batter Aiden Markam held on to the other end to score a 102 not out while taking his side to a posing total of 338/6 in 50 overs.
Before Markram's century in just 74 deliveries (4 sixes and 9 fours), openers Quinton de Kock (82) and Temba Bavuma (57) added 146-run stand to lay the foundation for a big total.
