Second ICL camp concludes

Chennai, Oct 25 (UNI) The Indian Cricket League (ICL) today concluded its second 15-day camp at the Mayajaal sports complext here with its team of experts including former Australian batsman Dean Jones, Jock Campbell and chairman Kapil Dev putting the 50 players in shape.

The 'rebel leagues' first Twenty20 competition is scheduled to be played in Chandigarh from November 30.

ICL media manager Sishir Hattangadi told UNI that in the run up to the actual league competition, the players belonging to respective states would be put through regional camps.

''The camps would be going on at Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkatta and Delhi,'' he said.

''The second camp here focussed on skills like high performance and net practice. Besides Kapil Dev, who interacted with the players on the aspect of focussing the mind to achieve the best performance, former India stars Erapalli Prasanna, Karsan Ghavri, Madan Lal, Sanip Patil and Ashok Malhotra also imparted the nuances of respective styles of bowling and batting skills.'' ''Dean Jones interacted with the players on aspects like team spirit and playing for each other,'' Mr Hattangadi added.
