Sedition case against Kashmiri students to be re-considered: Akhilesh

Meerut, March 7: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that sedition charges against Kashmiri students who had cheered Pakistan during a cricket match should be re-considered as it may ruin their lives and career.

"A probe has been ordered and action will be taken according to the probe," said Akhilesh.

The students studied in Meerut's Swami Vivekanand Subharti University and have been asked to leave the city after the incident came to light. The police has booked them for sedition and after strong protests by Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah, the charges were dropped.
