Former India player Aakash Chopra has given a bold statement on the India selectors after the T20 squad selection against Afghanistan.
India will play a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan which starts on January 11.

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been selected for the T20I series. The duo were subject of discussion ahead of the T20 series as their futures in the shortest format of the game was in question.
With the T20 World Cup in June, the selection of both Rohit and Virat in the team means the veteran stars are likely to be a part of the squad in the upcoming T20I World Cup.
But amid the selection, ex-India batter Aakash Chopra says Indian selectors had to pick both players to avoid any potential outrage. He says the selectors don't have the mettle to pick either one of them.
"If the selectors had thought of dropping either, I don't think any selector has (the guts) to drop one and pick the other. Not going to happen. Either both would have been picked or dropped. Rohit (Sharma), (Virat) Kohli would have been either selected or dropped. No one has the guts to pick one and drop another, which is not possible for anyone to do," Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
Although Kohli and Rohit are in the squad, several other India stars are missing due to injury issues. Suryakumar Yadav, the best performer for India in the T20 format is going to miss the Afghanistan series as he undergoes hernia surgery.
Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, and Jasprit Bumrah are also among the notable missing players in the squad.
