Shaheen Afridi puts end to rift rumours with Babar Azam, latest picture with Pakistan captain breaks internet

Shaheen Afridi broke his silence and brought an end to the rumours of his alleged dressing fight and rift with captain Babar Azam after Pakistan lost to Sri Lanka and crashed out of the Asia Cup 2023 on last Thursday.

Reports had suggested that Babar Azam was schooling seniors for not fulfilling their responsibilities when left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi interrupted and asked him not to generalise and at least praise those who did well.

Babar Azam did not like the interruption and hit back at Shaheen saying he was aware who was performing and who not. The star batter did not speak to anyone after that and stayed mum throughout the bus journey from Colombo's R Premadasa Stadium to the team hotel.

The left-arm pacer took out time on the day of his wedding with Shahid Afridi's daughter, and posted a picture with Pakistan captain Babar Azam. In the picture the two star cricketers can be seen holding coffee mugs while sitting on sofas. A chess board can also be seen placed on a table in front of them.

However, it was the one-word caption of the picture which stole the show. "Family," Shaheen Afridi, who picked 10 wickets in five matches of Asia Cup 2023, wrote.

The picture has gone viral and is breaking the internet. Here are a few reactions.

A Geo.tv report on Tuesday has suggested that Shaheen Afridi is set to replace Shadab Khan as the vice-captain of the Pakistan team ahead of the World Cup 2023 which kicks off from October 5. Pakistan will play warm-u matches against Australia and New Zealand in Hyderabad ahead of the main event.
