Pakistan's star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has spoken out after being dropped from the squad for the remaining two Test matches against England. Afridi, along with Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, and Sarfaraz Ahmed, was excluded from the team for the rest of the series.
This decision came following Pakistan's heavy defeat in the Pakistan vs England 1st Test in Multan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made the announcement just days before the second Test, igniting a wave of reactions from the cricketing community.

Despite the disappointment, Shaheen Afridi took to X (formerly Twitter) to wish his teammates well. "Wishing Team Pakistan the best of luck! Rooting for a strong comeback. We're all cheering for you!" Afridi wrote, signaling his support for the team as they prepare to take on England once again at the same venue in Multan.
The decision to drop the experienced players came after a newly-formed selection committee made significant changes to the squad, aiming to turn Pakistan's fortunes around. Aqib Javed, a member of the selection committee, justified the decision.
He stated, "We've had to carefully consider current player form, the urgency to bounce back in the series, and Pakistan's demanding 2024-25 international schedule." He emphasized that the decision was made "in the best interest of Pakistan cricket and the players," ensuring they would be rested and ready for future challenges.
Shaheen Afridi's exclusion, along with that of Babar Azam and Naseem Shah, has stirred mixed reactions. Some supporters argue that resting the players is a wise move to ensure their fitness for upcoming international duties.
However, others believe that sidelining key players during a crucial series could affect their confidence. Shaheen's recent struggles with form following a knee injury have raised concerns, but he remains one of Pakistan's most valuable assets.
The PCB's approach reflects a shift toward giving younger players opportunities to prove themselves. Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Kamran Ghulam, and Zahir Mehmood have been called up as replacements in the hope of sparking a resurgence.
As Pakistan prepares to take on England for the second Test on the same pitch in Multan, the pressure is on to avoid another defeat and level the series. England, bolstered by the return of skipper Ben Stokes, will be a formidable opponent, while Pakistan seeks a comeback led by their newly-formed lineup.
