Shaheen Afridi marries Shahid Afridi's daughter Ansha; Babar Azam, other Pakistan stars attend ceremony

Pakistan's bowling star Shaheen Shah Afridi married Ansha Shahid, the daughter of former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi on Tuesday (September 19). The glamour couple tied the knot in Pakistan in a ceremony which was attended by many Pakistani cricketers.

Shaheen, the premier fast bowler of Pakistan, had a prior engagement with Ansha in 2021, and now has tied the know with 'nikah' earlier this year in the presence of close friends and family.

But the pair finally got married on Tuesday. And a host of Pakistani cricketers were present at the ceremony. Pakistan captain Babar Azam was present and was seen hugging Shaheen Afridi at the event, thus rubbishing all the rift rumours between the duo.

Babar also took to social media and congratulated his compatriot for the wedding.

Pakistan Cricket's official X (formerly Twitter) account also shared the pictures of Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi, as the pair seemed in jovial mode amid the presence of Shahid Afridi.

Apart from Babar, Mohammad Rizwan also present at the party. A video of Babar and Shaheen hugging each other has gone viral on social media as the Pakistani faithful have breathed a sigh of relief ahead of the World Cup. Former Pakistani opener Saeed Anwar was also spotted among the guests, while Misbah-ul-Haq, Tanveer Ahmed also attended the ceremony.

It is reported that a Mehndi function took place on Monday in attendance of close friends and family. The marriage ceremony took place in Karachi on Tuesday.
