Shaheen Afridi to marry Shahid Afridi's daughter Ansha for second time after Asia Cup 2023, reason revealed

Shaheen Afridi, the Pakistan left-arm pacer is set to marry Shahid Afridi's daughter Ansha Afridi for the second time. According to reports, the 23-year-old will renew the vows with Ansha again on September 19, just two days after the final of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023.

Shaheen Afridi and Ansha married for the first time in February 2023. They got engaged in 2021. The wedding was attended by Pakistan cricketers including captain Babar Azam and Shadab Khan.

However, the couple have decided to marry one more time to make the celebration bigger and grander. The first marriage which was performed through the traditional Afridi tribal rituals was only attended by a selected few.

The two families and the couple are understandably marrying for the second time to celebrate their union with a larger group of people. The grand Barat ceremony will be held in Karachi on November 19, while the reception will be held in a private reception in Islamabad on September 21.

Shaheen Afridi is currently the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the Asia Cup 2023. In three matches, he has picked seven wickets at an average of 14.86.

On September 2, he rattled the Indian top-order by cleaning the stumps of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He also got the wicket of Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja later.

Pakistan are currently unbeaten in the Asia Cup 2023. On Wednesday, they defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the first Super Fours match of the Asia Cup 2023. The side will now face India on Sunday, September 10 in Colombo.
