Adelaide, March 17: Pakistan's all-rounder Shahid Afridi has landed in a controversy ahead of their quarter-final clash against Australia at ICC World Cup 2015.
According to reports and comments on social media, Afridi has come under heavy attack from cricket fans for using an offensive word to TV commentator Mark Nicholas during the team's final group game against Ireland on Sunday (March 15).

Pakistan defeated Ireland by 7 wickets at Adelaide Oval to qualify for the quarter-finals. However, the talking point of the match was Afridi's use of the word "nigger" (an offensive term for a Black person - according to the dictionary) to Nicholas during the innings break.
Though it is not clear what Afridi used, the video has gone viral. Later, the cricketer himself took to Twitter to clarify but it was also not clear what he was trying to say.
Pakistan face Australia in the quarter-final on Friday (March 20).
