Shahnawaz Dahani's social media rant after being left out of Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 squad has not gone down well with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) who are mulling to take actions against him.
The 25-year-old pacer was left out of Pakistan's Asia Cup squad as the Inzamam-ul-Haq led panel picked Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Wasim Jr. over him.

Replying to tweet from former cricketer Rashid Latif which showed the List A stats of Afridi, Naseem, Rauf, Wasim, Mohammad Hasnain, Faheem Ashraf and Zaman Khan, the Larkana-born cricketer posted his own stats and wrote, "Seems as if Dahani is not a Pakistani pacer?'
He also slammed sports journalists for not questioning the Pakistan selectors decision to drop him. "Not even a single journalist or cricket analyst even dared to ask questions or show these stats to selectors. #RIPSPORTSJOURNALISM," he tweeted. The tweetes were deleted later.
As per the reports, the pacer now faces action by PCB over his tweets. PCB's legal team would reportedly take action against Dahani who is currently plying his trade in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 where he has picked three wickets in three matches at an average of 39.66 and an economy rate of 10.34 for Dambulla Aura.
Shahnawaz Dahani till date has played two ODIs and 11 T20I matches for Pakistan. He last played for the Men in Green in October 2022. Dahani's last ODI match came back in August last year. He was part of the Pakistan squad for Asia Cup 2022 which was played in T20 format.
Pakistan have recalled pace-bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf for the Afghanistan ODIs and the following Asia Cup 2023.
