Shoaib accuses PCB of excessive behaviour

By Staff

Rawalpindi, Apr 2 : Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has termed the cricket board's decision of five-year's ban on him excess against him, and added that he was awarded major punishment for a minor offence.

Addressing a press conference outside the Rawalpindi Press Club on Wednesday Shoaib thanked the media and people for their support.

He advised his supporters to control their emotions and avoid any unruly behaviour.

Shoaib said he would file appeal with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) against the ban and would go to the Supreme Court for justice.

He said the board was prejudiced against him, The News reported.

Pakistan Cricket Board imposed five-years ban on the maverick bowler on disciplinary grounds disallowing him to play cricket for the national team.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has taken notice of five-year ban on Shoaib by the cricket board, sources said.

Prime Minister Gilani has taken notice of five-year ban on Shoaib and issued directives to PCB to revise the decision, the sources added.
